Nursing student Vinny is prepared for anything, thanks to the solid foundation he's building at CCBC.
For Vinny, nursing is more than a career—it’s a calling with a dash of excitement.
“I was drawn to nursing because I wanted to help people, but let’s be honest, the thrill of adrenaline in real-life medical situations is pretty exciting. It’s like being on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ without the drama!” he joked.
Vinny chose CCBC for its strong reputation and affordability.

Earning an associate degree first and knocking out a big chunk of his coursework without drowning in student debt is the first step toward achieving his bigger goals. His plan is to earn an associate degree, start working and later pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner. Reaching his goals has been made seamless through opportunities at CCBC, like the Associate to Bachelor’s program.

But Vinny’s college experience goes beyond academics. He’s found that getting involved in clubs and sports gives him a break from studying and has helped him build connections beyond the classroom. To unwind, Vinny plays pickleball, calling it a great way to burn off stress and meet cool people.
With a well-rounded CCBC experience, Vinny is ready for anything.
“CCBC is giving me the skills and confidence to walk into a hospital or clinic and know I’ve got what it takes,” he said. “You never feel like just a number here. Every class, lab and clinical brings me closer to becoming a superhero—just with a stethoscope instead of a cape.”
Vinny is one of CCBC’s 2024-2025 Fresh Faces student representatives.
