Victoria Lizardo decided to come to CCBC in the fall of 2021 after she received a CCBC Continuing Education catalog in the mail. While browsing, the Music Production and Audio Recording Technology courses piqued her interest.
“I became obsessed, and I went back to my alma mater for an official transcript and started school again at CCBC,” said Lizardo, who has a Bachelor of Science in Multiplatform Production from Morgan State University. “I love it, and I’m so glad for this impulsive decision.”
Lizardo likes the fact that the Music Production and Audio Recording Technology program is hands-on, and she was able to learn while going through scenarios and producing projects that had a focus on learning principal skills.
I think the flexibility that CCBC’s class scheduling provides allows students to start making habits for a healthy work-life balance.
Lizardo, who works as an audio engineer and events coordinator for a company in Baltimore and also freelances from her own small business, Lizard Vision Production, found that CCBC was an affordable option to continue her education. She also received a scholarship from CCBC for earning a 4.0 GPA. In addition to being one of CCBC’s Fresh Faces, she is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
“CCBC has helped me toward my dream of creating something that is captivating and can reach many people because they have put me in a position to learn and be active while doing it,” said Lizardo. “I truly believe that my professors provided me with the knowledge I needed to feel comfortable working in the field even before I finished my certification.”
Lizardo is grateful for all the opportunities that CCBC provided her. In fact, the company where she interned to complete her certificate hours has invited her to join their team.
“You never stop learning in life, and CCBC is a wonderful place to get back on track or work on learning new skills,” she said. “I was able to do both while at CCBC.”
