After graduating from CCBC in June 2022, she continued her journey at Rosedale Bible College in Irwin, Ohio, majoring in Biblical Studies.
At CCBC, she earned her associate degree in General Studies and a Global Studies certificate. She was a member of the CCBC Honors program and has received the Presidential Scholar Award each semester.
“Being involved in Student Life at CCBC has given me multiple opportunities to develop my leadership skills,” said Clara, who has served as secretary of the Green Club and a student officer of the Christian Fellowship Club.
Weaver also served as a First-Year Experience Mentor, where she helped to make new students feel welcome and supported. This included working with multiple student mentees and assisting with Student Life functions such as new student orientation and ConnectFest.
In 2021, she was accepted into the highly competitive Mellon-sponsored Invisible History Summer Research Experience at CCBC. Her research highlighted the historical work of the enslaved people who once lived and worked in the Catonsville community during the antebellum period.
“Service is one of the defining themes of my life, both at school and outside of school,” said Clara.
She earned her Service Learning certificate this fall working with her neighborhood community association and CCBC’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has been a leader of her church’s youth group since 2019.
At Rosedale Bible College, in addition to studying the Bible and Christian doctrines, she will be trained in community service and ministry. While her future plans are open, some options are serving as a full-time missionary and pursuing further degrees to teach math and science. She feels called to work with children and Spanish-speaking populations, whether at home or abroad.
