Archana chose CCBC not only based on proximity, but the numerous opportunities the college provides for helping her to carefully plan and build her future.
“I chose CCBC for the perfect balance between affordability and quality education,” she shared. “It’s close to home, which helps me manage work, school and other responsibilities. Plus, the Honors College and student leadership roles have really enriched my college experience.”
Archana finds the Honors College’s offering of smaller class sizes, engaging discussions and motivated peers especially rewarding.

She cites being able to connect and network with others through the special projects and events that the Honors College provides, including fully funded summer and winter learning experiences.
Archana’s journey has been supported by CCBC’s financial aid and scholarships, including the Catonsville Foundation General Scholarship and the CCBC Alumni Association Scholarship.
“These scholarships have been incredibly helpful,” she said. “The financial support allows me to focus on my studies and take advantage of opportunities at CCBC without constantly worrying about tuition.”
Also propelling Archana’s future success is Degrees to Succeed, a CCBC program paving the way for her to seamlessly transfer to University of Maryland, Baltimore County. With resources like dual academic advising, transfer workshops and networking events, she feels well-prepared to take her next steps.
“Degrees to Succeed has made the transfer process smoother and has left me feeling more connected and supported to both schools,” she noted.
Looking ahead, Archana is excited about her career prospects and grateful for the strong foundation CCBC has given her. She encourages others to take advantage of all that the college has to offer.
“Take this opportunity to explore different subjects, get involved and meet with advisors,” she shared. “It’s a great way to build a solid academic foundation while discovering where your interests truly lie.”
