Since becoming a CCBC Board member in 2009, Johnson volunteered as chair of the Alumni Annual Giving Campaign, encouraging CCBC alumni to support the college. Through his efforts and support, more than $80,000 was raised at the end of March 2014 from more than 380 alumni. In memory of his parents, Johnson established the Adrian S. Johnson Scholarship for Business & Technology to encourage students to enroll in business or technology majors and to promote financial literacy for a new generation.
In 2013, Johnson was honored as the Distinguished Alumni of 2013 in recognition for his commitment to community service, advocacy for CCBC and noteworthy career success. In 2014, Johnson was named Best CFO of 2014 by Baltimore Business Journal.
