Tutoring

CCBC offers tutoring, writing help and academic coaching for students.

Get help reaching your goals.

CCBC is more than just a place to take classes, it's a support system dedicated to your academic and professional success. We offer three types of academic support services, available online and on campus, and absolutely free for students. From hands-on biology models to dedicated study spaces equipped with computers, our tutoring and academic support resources are designed to help you learn and grow.

Whether you need help understanding course concepts or want to prep for an exam, our faculty and staff tutors will set you up for success.

CCBC offers free virtual and on-site tutoring for most courses and placement exams, including:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Continuing Education Courses
  • General education courses (i.e. Communications 101, Psychology 101, or Health 101)
  • ALEKS math placement test prep and GED prep
  • Math
  • Physics
  • TEAS prep

CCBC offers two writing resources to students: the Writing and Literacy Center and the Online Writing Lab (OWL). Both are staffed by English department faculty and provide free writing assistance to students of all majors!

Whether you need help with organizing your thoughts, editing your draft or adding citations, the Writing and Literacy Center is here for you! Visit us at any campus for help with:

  • Writing class essays and papers.
  • ESOL and ACLT assignments.
  • Resumes and cover letters.
  • Transfer essays.

If you need a more flexible option, the Online Writing Lab (OWL) allows students to email their questions and assignments and get timely feedback!

If you're looking for general academic support, we recommend starting with Academic Coaching. Our coaches have strong backgrounds in advising, career counseling and teaching, and can help you get acclimated to college coursework.

We assist students with:

  • Connecting with resources.
  • Time management.
  • Test-taking strategies.
  • Goal settings.
  • Study skills.
  • Organization.
  • Motivation.

Coaches are available to meet 1:1, or you can sign up for one of our group workshops held throughout the semester.
