CCBC has trained medical imaging professionals since 1973, with one of Maryland’s first associate degree programs in radiography.
With a notable history and an eye on the future, CCBC aims to provide the medical community with competent graduates proficient in the latest medical imaging technology and patient care techniques.
The Medical Imaging training opportunities are located at CCBC Essex, using the latest in traditional (lecture-style) instruction, lab simulation and hands-on clinical experience.

Students will gain clinical competency and experience at several local hospitals and imaging centers in the Baltimore metro area.
CCBC Medical Imaging now offers a course of study in mammography in addition to courses in registry review for CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
The Medical Imaging department utilizes curriculum from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and follows exam specifications from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for all courses. Programs and courses are designed to help students succeed in completing, passing national certification exams and finding jobs in the community.
The advanced modality courses of CT, MRI and Mammography satisfy the ARRT’s Structured Education Requirements for post-primary certification and registration, as well as the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
Students must have a Radiography license in order to gain entry into the advanced modality programs and courses.
