Builds upon the clinical experience of RESP 200, and will continue to refine skills in the adult critical care setting under supervision of clinical faculty/preceptor. This course provides integration of advanced respiratory modalities to include: intubation/extubation techniques, advanced mechanical ventilation management utilizing various mechanical ventilator models, interpretation of ventilator graphics, and airway pressures associated with mechanical ventilation. Regularly scheduled lectures with the medical director to enhance clinical knowledge. Continuous evaluation of skills competencies is required in the clinical environment. Course offered once a year (fall).
Prerequisite(s): RESP 200.
Corequisite(s): RESP 201 and RESP 202.
