Is a 5 weeks course in which the concepts of mechanical ventilation in the classroom and laboratory settings are presented. Application of skills and knowledge learned during the first year will continue under supervision of clinical faculty/preceptor. The students are introduced to practice in the Intensive Care Unit with emphasis on caring for a mechanically ventilated patient. Continuous evaluation of skills competencies is required in the clinical environment. Course offered once a year (summer).
Prerequisite(s): RESP 104.
