Explores how music is conceived and communicated and introduces reading music. Primary concepts of note reading, rhythm, scales, key signatures, intervals, and chords are studied, along with the basics of hard-copy and electronic notation. Students are required to attend at least one live concert during the course. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisite(s): ACLT 052 or ACLT 053 or (ESOL 052 and ESOL 054).
Corequisite(s): MATH 082.
