Introduces the student to the knowledge and skills necessary to function in many dynamic situations that require situational awareness techniques and that may alter standard treatment priorities. The course provides both classroom sessions and integrated lab opportunities to enhance student critical thinking during special operations such as disaster response, vehicle rescue operations, and active assailant incidents. This includes mandatory regulatory requirements established by the federal and state agencies. Course offered once a year (fall).
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Emergency Medical Technology Program.
