Introduces cybersecurity concepts and best practices to implement cyber hygiene to protect assets and data stored in digital devices and in the cloud. An overview of of personal safety and security risks for private information associated with using the Internet and self-protection from cybercrime is provided to increase awareness based on current cybersecurity best practices. Topics include cybercrimes such as extortion and money laundering and ways to protect identity and assets in the ever-growing cyber threats. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisites: ACLT 052 or (ESOL 052 and ESOL 054) and MATH 081 or permission of the Program Coordinator.
