Is a first semester course for students needing a full year of organic chemistry; discusses the chemistry of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons and their derivatives, their syntheses, nomenclature, reactions, mechanisms, stereochemistry and uses. 3 hours lecture and 1 hour recitation per week. Concurrent enrollment in CHEM 201 is highly recommended. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisite(s): Minimum grade of "C" in CHEM 133.
