17. 5 dual instrument instruction flight hours, 15 ground instruction hours, provides the final phase of flight and simulator training toward the completion of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Instrument Pilot Rating, Airplane category. Topics include instrument approach procedures, instrument cross county flying, air traffic control clearances, departure and arrival procedures, holding, lost communication procedures, and single pilot resource management. A valid FAA Medical Certificate is required. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
Prerequisite(s): AVMT 232 and approval of the Aviation Program Director.
