Located at CCBC Catonsville, Camp Heritage is a summer adventure for children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade. We also offer engaging leadership development opportunities for 6-9th grade students. Your camper will elave with a deep-rooted belief in their own abilities.

From splashing in the pool to crafting masterpieces, your camper will enjoy a variety of activities!
Make sure your camper has a packed lunch and drink each day, which will be refrigerated. Your camper should bring a water bottle to camp to help us “go green.” Lunch will be followed by independent reading time. All your camper needs to do is bring a physical book to camp each day to read.
This program encompasses all aspects of physical activities, including its mental and emotional aspects. Our goals are fun and fair play while improving basic skills and teamwork. The college's well-designed indoor and outdoor facilities will be used for the program.
Our recreational and instructional swimming program is designed to help children improve their swimming skills and feel more comfortable in the water. It is not a learn-to-swim program, and all campers must have had prior successful swimming instruction. Red Cross certified lifeguards will be on duty at all times.
Each of the following activities are offered 2-4 times a week.
The art program provides a variety of 2D and 3D projects, inspired by famous artists. Children will have a relaxing and creative experience.
Children will participate in activities that broaden their understanding of world cultures, selected time periods, scientific discovery and the use of physical resources.
The program focuses on environmental exploration, discovery and protection. Children will explore throughout campus and the nearby Patapsco State Park, learning about vegetation and animal life.
This program involves a wide range of activities, from presenting plays/skits and making videos to learning songs and dances. It is an opportunity for the campers to express themselves freely. The program will culminate in a camp show.

These specials are a regular part of camp and do not require an additional fee unless lunch, food or drink is to be provided. Specials and trips may be grade-specific.
Our staff are dedicated to creating a developmentally appropriate and socially enriching camp experience for each child — and are required to undergo training and background checks. We also cultivate the next generation of leaders through volunteer programs.
Andrea Broadhurst returns as the camp director. She started at Camp Heritage in 2013 and has over 20 years of summer camp leadership experience.
Our programming is developed and taught by eight professional educators.
Our instructor assistants and counselors are carefully selected based on their experience, education and enthusiasm and go through extensive pre-camp leadership training. Instructor assistants are 18+ and counselors are 16+.
A registered nurse is on call at all times to serve Camp Heritage. The nurse is available for staff and parent consultation during camp hours and makes on-site visits as requested and needed. All medications dispensed at camp are accepted and reviewed by the camp nurse.
We offer leadership development programs for middle and high school students.
Students who have completed 6th or 7th grade can apply for the four-week CIT program, which helps them build communication and leadership skills in both classroom and "in-the-field" experiences. There is a cost associated with this program.
After completing the CIT program, students who have completed 8th or 9th grade can participate in our two-to-four week volunteer program. Under the program, volunteers will take initiative in their own learning as they observe senior counselors and assist them with classroom and recreational activities.
