Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging

Celebrating and integrating culture

At CCBC, it's our shared responsibility to provide a safe, brave and inviting environment for persons of every race and ethnic heritage, gender, religion, ability, linguistic diversity, and sexual orientation.

In collaboration with existing college programs and offices, the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging promotes and facilitates the academic, professional and personal development of members of the CCBC community with an emphasis on underrepresented groups. This is accomplished through advocacy, direct service and cultural programming.

Resources for the LGBTQ+ community

Find faculty and staff members who are specifically trained to support and advocate for students who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. To download an up to date directory of these Safe Zone allies, go to the myCCBC student portal, navigate to "My Files" in the navigation menu, select "Shared With Me" and click on "Safe Zone Ally List.xlsx".

You can use the restroom of the gender(s) with which you identify. In addition, we have gender-inclusive facilities at each of our campuses and buildings.

If you wish to be addressed by a different name, you can either set up a preferred name or formally change your name through the Enrollment Services Center.

Ways to get involved

The Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning Program (CRTL)

As the United States population grows and diversifies, we continue to interact with people who are different from us. Some may find it challenging to know how to respond to folks who bring their own unique culturally-based expectations to the table. The CRTL program helps a large network of faculty, staff and students gain valuable cross-cultural experiences in order to effectively interact with all people.
