Financial Aid for New Students

You've applied for financial aid. Now what?

After applying to CCBC, one of your first steps is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Why? Because we're able to help most students attend without the cost of tuition – and it all starts with completing the FAFSA!

After you've applied for financial aid, here's what you can expect:

Using financial aid for books

If you have any financial aid available after your tuition and fees are applied, you may have credit available at the bookstore (up to $715 for full-time students).

The dates during which you can use your bookstore credit can be found in the Financial Aid Calendar. During this period, you can view your bookstore credit availability through your CCBC OneCard.

Applying for Federal Work Study positions

Think you're eligible for Federal Work Study? Here are your next steps:

  • Complete our Federal Work Study application .
  • Visit College Central Network to search and apply for work study positions. We encourage you to work with Career Services if you need assistance.
  • Interview with the hiring supervisor for the position of interest. If selected, you and your supervisor will need to complete the Student Employment Hiring Authorization Form and the Student Employee Personnel Action Form (PAF) and return it to the Financial Aid office.
  • Complete and submit all federal, state and college employment forms located on your SIMON account.
  • Create a work schedule with your supervisor that does not conflict with your class schedule. Student employees cannot work during their scheduled class times. If students are identified as working during their scheduled time to attend class, their employment can be terminated.
