CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame to honor 18 in its 2024 class

Established in 2011, the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes and honors current student-athletes, alumni, former and current coaches and athletic staff.


Baltimore County, Md. (October 1, 2024) – Community College of Baltimore County Athletics Hall of Fame will induct 18 honorees at a special banquet to be held 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, 2024 in the Jack Manley Wellness and Athletics Center at CCBC Catonsville.

Established in 2011, the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes and honors current student-athletes, alumni, former and current coaches and athletic administrators/staff for outstanding contributions to CCBC Athletics on the three main campuses. With the induction of this group of elite athletes, coaches and administrators, CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame now has 251 members.

The 2024 CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame Honorees:

  • Debbie Sadler Assaro of Fallston, Md. – Soccer (Essex campus)
  • Jon Beard of Davidsonville, Md. – Lacrosse (Essex campus)
  • Donald W. Beasley of Baltimore, Md. – Basketball Coach (Dundalk campus)
  • Kent Boles of Dundalk, Md. – Meritorious Service (CCBC)
  • Rolanda K. Brown of Parkville, Md. – Basketball (Dundalk campus)
  • Joe Fielder of Baltimore, Md. – Soccer Coach (Essex campus)
  • Charles L. Green of District Heights, Md. – Basketball (Catonsville campus)
  • Randy Grobaker of Ellicott City, Md. – Basketball (Catonsville campus)
  • Kyle Hartzell of Austin, Tx. – Lacrosse (Essex campus)
  • Sean P. Heffernan of Timonium, Md. – Lacrosse (Essex campus)
  • Dennis Craig Mitchell of Towson, Md. – Cross Country and Track Coach (Catonsville campus)
  • Tim Osgood of Baltimore, Md. – Golf (Essex Campus)
  • Danny Prevatt of Naples, Fla. – Baseball (Dundalk campus)
  • Erin Pronobis of Wilmington, N.C. – Softball (Catonsville campus)
  • Larry D. Russell of Jupiter, Fla. – Swimming and Lacrosse (Catonsville campus)
  • Patsy Schachnuk of St. Pete Beach, Fla. – Volleyball (Catonsville campus)
  • Chorye Spoon of Pasadena, Md. – Baseball (Catonsville campus)
  • Gina Daniel Van Detta of Bel Air, Md. – Soccer, Basketball and Lacrosse (Essex campus)

CCBC Hall of Fame Selection Committee

The herculean task of narrowing down the field for the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame was done by a ten-member committee, under the leadership of Chairman Phil Mooney, representing alumni, former coaches, athletic administrators and at-large members.
