Baltimore County, Md. (June 26, 2024) – The Government Finance Officers Association recently awarded the Community College of Baltimore County with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023.
“We are proud to be recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association for our comprehensive annual financial report for the 26th consecutive year,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis. “This recognition is a true testament to both the hard work and dedication of our finance department each and every year and the highest reporting standards we have in place at CCBC.”
According to the GFOA, the association established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (CAFR Program) in 1945. Its purpose is to recognize individual governments that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.
Reports submitted to the CAFR Program have been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
