CCBC’s 2024 Commencement Ceremony was held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at CCBC Essex. We celebrated the spirit of the 2,700 candidates from the Class of 2024 as 780 of them walked across the stage while their families and friends looked on with pride.
CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis recognized the achievements of all of the graduates, and highlighted a few of the noteworthy graduates, including the 25 high school seniors who graduated with both their high school diploma and their associate degree from CCBC through the Early College Access (ECAP) program; the Degrees to Succeed graduates, who have guaranteed seamless entry into their chosen four-year institution; Honors College students; student athletes; international students from 45 different nations; and last but not least, our veteran and active military students.
“Today we are celebrating 2,700 unstoppable graduates. Each of you now joins the hundreds of thousands of CCBC graduates – nurses, teachers, artists, scientists, dancers, poets, entrepreneurs. You name it, they have walked across this same stage since our founding year in 1957…You represent the best we have to offer, so when we look at you, we know you are ready to embark on your own future journey.” – Dr. Kurtinitis.
The Commencement speaker was the 2024 President’s Distinguished Graduate, Vidhi Patel, a General Studies major with a passion for fashion design.
“CCBC has helped fund my education on top of connecting me to multiple resources that have led me to be here today,” said Patel. “I am grateful to have been able to attend CCBC and have access to their scholarships, facilities and organizations.”
