Baltimore County, Md. (June 25, 2024)Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, in residence at CCBC Essex, will perform CATS, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T.S. Eliot, July 19 through August 4. All performances will be held at the Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, F. Scott Black Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd.

The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year — the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life. CATS is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Really Useful Group.

Directed and choreographed by Bambi Johnson with Nathan Scavilla as musical director, Reenie Codelka as orchestra conductor and Becky Flickinger as stage manager. Whitney Russell is the assistant to choreographer, Sammy Jungwirth is set designer, Theresa Foggo is scenic artist and lighting designer is Thomas Gardner. Costume coordinator is “Lizzie” Elizabeth Jaspan, sound designer is Toni Oliver and makeup designer is Tigga Smaller.

CATS performance schedule:

  • July 19, 20, 26, 27 at 8 p.m.
  • July 21, 28 at 3 p.m.
  • August 2, 3 at 8 p.m.
  • August 4 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors (age 60+) and $14 for students and children. They are available at the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) or online at ccbctickets.com.
