CCBC and Towson University have partnered to offer students a seamless and efficient path toward earning a bachelor’s degree through the new Degrees to Succeed program.

CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis and Towson University President Kim Schatzel gathered for the official signing ceremony 12:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31 in the Carol Diane Eustis Center for Health Professions, Rm. 135 at CCBC Essex.

The Degrees to Succeed program provides students with benefits of both institutions, starting their coursework at CCBC — completing their Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree — then transferring their credits to TU — where they would begin their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree as a third-year student. Additional benefits for CCBC students participating in the Degrees to Succeed program include the following:

• Co-advising with TU advisors to ensure CCBC courses align with TU programs
• Membership in the TU Transfer Mentor Program providing new transfer students a faculty or staff mentor for their first year at TU
• TU campus ID card allowing entry to select TU events and activities
• Application fee waiver with the option to compete for a $1,000 renewable merit scholarship

With hundreds of associate and bachelor degrees to choose from, CCBC and Towson offer students a wealth of opportunities to advance their academic goals. Forging this strong partnership builds on the strengths of both institutions and lays the groundwork for more CCBC students to earn bachelor degrees, carry less debt and become a part of TU’s legacy where 89% of graduates enroll in a graduate program or are employed with an average salary of over $50,000 annually.
