CCBC Essex Academic Theatre presents A Bright New Boise
By Samuel D. Hunter
In the bleak corporate breaker of an Idaho Hobby Lobby, we find Will, a man who fled his hometown after a scandal at his Evangelical church and is trying to reconnect with his estranged son, Alex. While privately praying for Rapture to come, Will bonds with his coworker Anna, evades his foul-mouthed boss, Pauline, and must manage Alex’s brother, Leroy’s attempts to expose his past. An empathetic and darkly funny drama about the meager profits of modern faith.
