Janel Martinez is a Bronx-based writer whose work focuses on culture and identity. She is the founder of the award-winning site Ain’t I Latina?, an online destination celebrating Afro-Latinas. The site includes lifestyle coverage, career advice, celebrity news, and interviews with today’s impressive Latinas.
Her work is included in the 2021 anthology, Wild Tongues Can’t Be Tamed: 15 Voices from the Latinx Diaspora. She contributes articles to Essence, Adweek, Univision Communications, Oprah Magazine, VICE, and Remezcla.
