The Office of General Counsel (OGC) represents CCBC in all legal matters. Our work includes providing advice and counsel on the legal affairs of the College in support of its mission. In this role, the OGC considers the needs of the college and its diverse perspectives while also working to minimize legal risks to the College.
The office serves as the point of contact for all legal inquiries, public records requests, open meetings act compliance, subpoenas, and other forms of legal process. Matters handled by the OGC cover a myriad of legal areas arising within the context of higher education including contracts, labor and employment, compliance, program audits, real-estate and construction, risks management, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Clery Act, Title IX, litigation and other legal areas.
