Teaching and Learning focuses on supporting faculty and staff through professional growth opportunities. It achieves this by offering various activities including coaching, mentoring, and professional learning courses to sharpen the skills of CCBC members. Additionally, the center provides opportunities for faculty to discuss and reflect on their teaching and learning in a collaborative and supportive environment.
At CCBC, the Teaching and Learning initiative is divided into two key areas: Professional and Organizational Learning, and Transformational Pedagogies.
The Center for Professional and Organizational Learning (CPOL) cultivates intellectual curiosity and advancement of faculty and staff to promote student success at CCBC. As part of the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership, CPOL is responsible for college-wide training events, conferences, resources for faculty and other professional development opportunities.
The Center for Transformational Pedagogies (CTP) cultivates teaching excellence through knowledge to promote student success at CCBC. As part of the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership, CTP will promote proven teaching methods and scholarship to help close achievement gaps and boost student success. CTP oversees CCBC’s high-impact and evidence-based practice efforts, Teaching Squares, and much more. Some initiatives include:

Teaching and Learning Excellence Through Scholarship (TALES) is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal published by CCBC. TALES publishes original articles that contribute to teaching and learning excellence.
