The Community College of Baltimore County is proud of its Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) institutional accreditation. As an MSCHE member institution, CCBC must meet rigorous and comprehensive standards within the context of its mission. The Community College of Baltimore County is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission) www.msche.org. The Community College of Baltimore County’s accreditation status is ‘accreditation reaffirmed’. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on June 23rd 2022, was to reaffirm accreditation status. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
Middle States institutional accreditation is an essential component for CCBC to offer student financial aid and to provide student resources and services. Transfer of credits to other colleges is also enhanced by institutional accreditation. CCBC recently reaffirmed its accreditation by MSCHE in 2022.
Specialized Accreditation
Many of CCBC’s academic programs are accredited or approved by organizations recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and/or the United States Department of Education.
