Gain the needed skills for a career by enrolling in a Technical Studies program. Most current careers require workers who are able to integrate and apply technical and academic skills. The Technical Studies career programs highlight the use of the technology and incorporate it with academic learning. These career programs provide a pathway to a solid career in a wide variety of fields such as construction, manufacturing and transportation. Faculty members have both teaching and technical experience and maintain contact with local & regional companies to ensure that programs meet current workforce requirements.

Tech Studies Welcomes Middle School Students
To help interested young students in careers in technical areas, the CADD and Manufacturing Departments host a group of middle school students each Wednesday. The students, who spend the day on the Catonsville campus, visit the CADD department where they see sample CADD generated drawings and learn about various drawing programs. They also learn about rapid prototyping before they travel to the Manufacturing Department. There the students don safety glasses and view a CNC demo of the production of a key chain. Students receive a key chain as a keepsake of their visit.
