Day Program
The day program is available at both the Catonsville and Essex campuses and admission occurs for both fall and spring every year. The traditional day-time nursing program courses are generally offered as two days of in-class work and skills practice plus two days at a clinical site per week. In addition, students are also expected to devote time to group work, computer labs, and preparation for clinical days. The day-time program operates on a regular 15-week semester schedule. The application deadlines are March 15 and September 15. Approximately 56 to 64 students are accepted at each campus for both spring and fall.

Evening/Weekend
The evening/weekend RN program is designed for students who are unable to attend the traditional day time classes. Students come to campus a minimum of 3 days per week. The evening/weekend program is offered only at the Essex campus, and admission occurs only in the fall semester. The application deadline is March 15. Approximately 40 students are accepted each fall.

Online/Hybrid
The online hybrid RN program is offered only at the Catonsville campus and admission occurs only in the fall semester. Students complete all 33 credits of the prerequisite courses and apply for admission by the deadline of March 15. The didactic portion of the program is available online. Students must come to the Catonsville campus or to clinical sites minimally one day each week. Approximately 24 students are accepted each fall.

LPN to RN Bridge
The LPN to RN Transition program, or the LPN Bridge program, is designed as a pathway for licensed practical nurses to bridge into the registered nurse program. Applicants must have worked a minimum of 6 months as LPNs and have a valid Maryland license. Students complete prerequisite courses and apply for admission by the January 15 deadline. Students who are accepted into the program will complete a dosage course by the end of May and begin the 12-week bridge course in early June at the Essex campus. Students who successfully complete the didactic and clinical portions of the bridge course will join the nursing program in the fall semester at the beginning of the second year of nursing program courses at the Essex campus. Approximately 30 students are accepted each summer.

Paramedic to RN Bridge
The Paramedic to RN bridge program is designed as a pathway for paramedics to bridge into the registered nurse program. Applicants must have worked a minimum of 2 years as a paramedic and have a valid Maryland EMT-P certification. Students complete all 33 credits of the prerequisite courses and apply for admission by the February 15 deadline. Students who are accepted into this program complete a dosage course in late May and begin the 12-week bridge course early in June. The Bridge course is offered only in an online/in-class hybrid format, and only at the Catonsville campus. Students who successfully complete the didactic and clinical portions of the bridge course will join the nursing program at the beginning of the second year of nursing program courses, at the Catonsville campus. Approximately 24 students are accepted each summer.

Associate to Master’s Program
This program is designed for students who already have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject area and want to obtain a Master’s degree in nursing. This program is aimed toward expanding the pool of Master’s prepared nurses who want to teach in a community college nursing program. The program is a collaborative effort between CCBC Essex and Towson University. Students will complete an Associate degree in nursing (ADN) at Essex and continue to completion of the Master’s degree at Towson. Students will be enrolled full-time and year-round and will complete the program within 3 years. This program is offered only at the Essex campus and admission occurs once each year, into the spring semester. Approximately 16 students are accepted each spring.

Practical Nursing
The Practical Nursing (LPN) program is a twelve-month, three semester, 46 credit certificate program comprised of 12 courses designed to provide theoretical and clinical study in nursing that will enable students to assist other health care professionals, such as registered nurses and physicians, and work as members of a health care team. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). The Practical Nursing program is offered only at the Dundalk campus. Applications are due April 15 for fall admission. Approximately 40 students are accepted into this program each year.
