Paramedic to RN Bridge

Academic Requirements:

Applicants for the Paramedic to RN Bridge program must have all prerequisites, general education, and program requirements completed prior to beginning the Nursing program courses. Applicants may be enrolled in BIOL 221 and/or BIOL 230 as they apply, but must successfully complete both courses for full admission.

BIOL 110 may be a prerequisite for BIOL 220 and 230. The option to challenge or receive a waiver for BIOL 110 is available. Contact the Biology department for information.

General Education and Nursing Requirements:

GPA Requirements:
Applicants must have a minimum overall CCBC GPA of 2.00. Students must have a minimum GPA calculated on the prerequisites, general education, and nursing requirements of 2.50.

Non-academic Requirements:

Preadmission Examination - All applicants to the Nursing program must register for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to the application deadline. The approximate cost for this test is $40.00. The Nursing Department recommends that if a student scores less than 70% for the total composite score and/or less than 90% for the Reading sub-test, consideration should be given to repeating the test to raise the score. Students may take the TEAS examination only two times per application cycle. Testing schedules and registration information

Interview – The top candidates for the Paramedic to RN program will be invited to participate in an interview. The interview is scored and the score will be considered as part of the application packet.

Experience – Applicants for this program must be able to document at least 2 years of full-time work as Paramedics, licensed in Maryland.
