Nichelle Nichols of legendary Star Trek fame is
keynote for STEM conference
CCBC hosts STEM Alliance conference June 9 at Catonsville campus

Nichelle Nichols, known for her role as Lt. Nyota Uhura on the legendary Star Trek series, will offer the keynote address at STEM Trek: A Journey for Practitioners, the second event hosted by the newly formed Baltimore County STEM Alliance.

This free conference, open to all STEM educators and professionals, will be held 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, June, 9 at CCBC Catonsville.

The conference provides an opportunity to share information about STEM initiatives in Baltimore County as well as opportunities for collaborations and partnerships. Nichols will speak about her efforts to assist in recruiting women and minorities for NASA.
