CCBC Radiography Program to host Medical Imaging Fairs
10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Aug. 8, CCBC Essex
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (July 16, 2012) – According to the Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook for 2010-2020, one of the fastest growing occupations in health care is Radiography (X-rays). The profession has a 28 per cent projected growth rate, which is double the 14 per cent national average for all occupations. While the economy has definitely impacted job growth in the field, opportunities for radiographers in Maryland still exist in hospitals, imaging centers, physicians’ offices, etc.
The Community College of Baltimore County’s School of Health Professions offers a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree in Radiography. The program prepares graduates in the use of radiation to create images of human tissues, organs, bones and vessels for medical examination. CCBC also offers six-month Advanced Imaging Programs in CT and MRI. These programs are designed to provide the working Radiologic Technologist with the theoretical background and documented clinical experience necessary to sit for the Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registry examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
To learn more about these programs, plan to attend the CCBC Radiography Medical Imaging Fairs to be held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. in J-100 (J building, room 100) and at 6 p.m. in N-213 (N building, room 213) on the CCBC Essex campus, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.
To register for either of these free information sessions, email imagingfair@ccbcmd.edu with your name, phone number and email address. Please be sure to indicate which session you would like to attend.
