Dear CCBC Friend and Supporter:

Please join me and others in supporting the Community College of Baltimore County Foundation's sixth annual gala. I am pleased to serve as this year's gala chair, along with Mr. Rick Yaffe, president of the CCBC Foundation, Inc.

This year's gala is very special because your contributions will help CCBC raise the funds needed for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Challenge Grant.Proceeds from the event will provide scholarship and support, and help establish a Center for Global Education at CCBC in the newly rehabilitated Hilton Mansion. CCBC's premier An International Affair: Passport to Global Education Gala is slated for April 13, 2013 at Martin's West.

CCBC quick facts:

• With more than 72,000 students, CCBC is Maryland's largest community college.
• For every tax dollar spent on CCBC, the State gets $3 back.
• More than 90 percent of CCBC's graduates stay to live and work in the Greater Baltimore region.
• According to Community College Week's "Top 100" list for 2011, CCBC is ranked:
• 64th largest producer of A.A. degree graduates out of 1,100+ community colleges nationwide.
• 33rd nationally for number of African-Americans graduating with A.A. degrees.
• 19th nationally (number one in Maryland) for A.A. degrees in nursing.
• According to the Baltimore Business Journal Book of Lists, CCBC is the 43rd largest employer in the Baltimore area, with more than 1,200 full-time and 1,300 part-time employees.
