TEC 138 – Microstation Graphics

Become familiar with the operating procedures used to generate and maintain graphic images using Bentley's MicroStation software. Learn to create drawings of moderate complexity and know how to dimension and plot them properly.

Course Objectives:
1. Create 2D drawing using MicroStation Software.
2. Access and exit MicroStation Software.
3. Identify and effectively use the various types of menus.
4. Create and design cell library files.
5. Plot drawings.
6. Identify similarities and differences between MicroStation Software and other popular CAD software packages.

TEC 149 – Basic AutoCAD

Become familiar with AutoCAD by completing work-related drawings. Topics include orientation to disk-operating systems, file handling, display commands, drawing and editing commands and dimensioning. Intended for designers/operators with drawing ability but no AutoCAD experience.

Course Objectives:
1. Retrieve, save and manipulate CAD files using basic DOS commands.
2. Create and edit two-dimensional engineering drawings using model space.
3. Use prototype drawings, blocks, wblocks, xrefs, dimstylles and symbol libraries to increase the operator's productivity and consistency.
4. Plot CAD drawings using paper space with both pen plotters and laser printers.
5. Generate dimensioning and text information on CAD drawing.
6. Identify, set and control basic system variables.

TEC 261 – Introduction To ArcView

Introduction to ArcView is a two day course designed to provide an overview of ArcView GIS software. The student will become familiar with the ArcView Graphical User Interface and use ArcView to create, edit display, query, and analyze geographic and tabular data.

TEC 380 – Computer Aided Design

The course is designed to provide the student with instruction and practice in the theory of basic three-dimensional drafting principles, practices utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) techniques, and covers CAD software structure and features. Discuss creation of CAD drawings using standard techniques with Cimatron software.

TEC 381 – Computer Aided Manufacturing

The course is designed to provide the student with instruction and practice in the theory of basic programming using CAM software that covers 3 axis milling and basic lathe programming. CNC Technology is a prerequisite.

TEC 382 – Computer Numerical Control Technology

The course is designed to provide the student with instruction and practice in the theory of CNC milling equipment (Daewoo CNC Machining Centers) in a production environment, the setup of CNC milling machines, subroutine usage and program looping and provides hands-on operation.

TEC 420 – Introduction to MicroStation

This course is designed to introduce the designer or drafter with the operating procedures for generating and maintaining graphic images using MicroStation Software. Topics to be covered include accessing and exiting MicroStation Software, using menus, creating design and cell library files, executing graphic demands, and plotting.

TEC 421 – Computer Aided Design

Learn theory and application of basic three-dimensional drafting principles. Topics include computer-aided design techniques and CAD software structure and features. Creation of CAD drawings using standard techniques with Cimatron software. Additional topics covered include launching Cimatron, Cimatron environment, screen options, sets menu and interaticon part 1 and part 2.

TEC 422 – Computer Aided Manufacturing

Learn and apply basic programming using CAM software covering 3 axis milling and basic lathe programming.Topics to be covered include open NC document, preparing part for NC, creating roughing procedure, wireframe simulation, remaining stock, creating semi-finish procedures, creating finish procedure, and simulating tool path and posting G-code. CNC Technology is a pre-requisite.

TEC 423 – Computer Numerical Control Technology

The course is designed to enable the student to learn the theory of CNC milling equipment (Daewoo CNC Machining Centers) in a production environment, the setup of CNC milling machines, subroutine usage and program looping and provides hands-on operation. Topics covered include: machine knowledge from a programmer's viewpoint; Machine knowledge from an operator's viewpoint; preparing to write programs; CNC Program Structure; motion Types; Compensation Types; special features that help with programming; and basic modes of operation.

TEC 424 – Computer Numerical Control Technology

This course is designed to enable the student to learn the theory of CNC milling equipment (Daewoo CNC Machining Centers) in a production environment, the set-up of CNC milling machines, subroutine usage, and program looping. Topics to be covered include machine knowledge from a programmer¿s viewpoint, machine knowledge from an operator¿s viewpoint, preparing to write programs, CNC program structure, motion types, compensation types, specials features that help with programming, and basic modes of operation.

Course Objectives:
1. demonstrate the ability to create 2x G-Codes programming,
2. demonstrate the ability to set-up and operate a vertical CNC machining center, and
3. demonstrate the ability to make offsets and adjustments using fanuc controls.

TEC 425 – Computer Aided Design

This course is designed to enable the student to learn and apply basic three-dimensional drafting principles. Topics to be covered include computer-aided design techniques and CAD software structure and features, creation of CAD drawings using standard techniques with Cimatron software, launching Cimatron, Cimatron environment, screen options, set-up, menu, and interaction part 1 and part 2.

Course Objectives:
1. demonstrate the ability to create solid models,
2. demonstrate the ability to draft models using orthographic projections, and
3. demonstrate the ability to create assemblies.

TEC 426 – Computer Aided Manufacturing

This course is designed to enable the student to learn and apply basic programming using CAM software covering 3 axis milling. CNC technology is a pre-requisite. Topics to be covered include open NC document, preparing parts for NC, creating roughing procedure, wireframe simulation, remaining stock, creating semi-finish procedures, creating finish procedures, and simulating tool path and posting G-code.

Course Objectives:
1. demonstrate the ability to drive tools to solid models, and
2. demonstrate the ability to post process to G-code format.

TEC 427 – Computer Numerical Control Technology

TEC 504 – Autodesk Revit Level 1

Learn the concepts of Autodesk Revit through an introduction to the new interface, tool palettes, project browser and project navigator. Explore new styles for creating building components and drawing techniques needed to create views for plan, section, and elevations and how to dimension, label and plot finished drawings.

TEC 510 – SketchUp Fundamentals

Learn to create, modify, render and annotate architectural drawings in this combination lecture/demonstration hands-on activity class. Create, manipulate and modify edges and surfaces to generate renderings of architectural concepts including short cut keys; drawing lines; inference techniques and viewing control.

TEC 516 – Microstation Update

This course is designed to provide the Microstation operator exposure to some of the sophisticated tools used to increase productivity. The course will cover the new features in the current version of Microstation software, compared to previous versions.

TEC 610 – Introduction To Blueprint Reading

This course is designed to instruct the student to read drawings related to architecture. Topics to be covered include: floor plans, construction mathematics, dimensions and measurements.
