JEWELRY MAKING - Back to Arts

Beads and Mixed Media

Incorporate such materials as metal foils, shrink plastic and beads into their own designs of earrings, bracelets, brooches and necklaces. Each session will include discussions about professional looking finishing techniques and where to find inspiration for original designs as well as where to find exciting beads and other findings. Supply list given at first class.

Braided (Kumihimo) Jewelry

Make round braids for jewelry using a Kumihimo disk. These braids may be used to create unique bracelets, necklaces earrings. Learn this ancient Japanese craft to make colorful jewelry incorporating beads and a variety of yarns and fibers. Materials cost of $30 due at first class.

Create simple and interesting metal jewelry, bezels, and findings by learning to solder. Learn how to use a torch, a variety of soldering techniques and how to work with different metals while creating your own projects. Materials cost up to $40 due first class.
