Whether you need help organizing your thoughts, editing a draft or adding citations, the Writing and Literacy Center is staffed by English department faculty who will provide free writing assistance. virtually or in-person, no matter your major.

Prefer online only assistance?

Check out the Online Writing Lab (OWL)! CCBC students who are registered for a class can submit to OWL up to two times per week for any writing assignment!

Steps to submit

1. Email Jo Darden, Director of the Online Writing Center, at jdarden@ccbcmd.edu. Please include as much information about your submission as you can, including a copy of the assignment, any additional attachments that could be helpful and a working draft if you have one. 
2. Within 48-72 hours, an OWL faculty member will respond to your submission. Use the feedback as a guide for your rewrite.
3. Once you have used the OWL feedback to create a better draft of your assignment, you might want OWL to take a second look at what you’ve written. No problem! Send your “revised draft” to OWL and we will be happy to review it.
