Mark Williams Director of Career
Counseling and Student Employment
What is your background? After
I graduated from CCBC (Business
Administration, ’97) I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in
Economics from the University of Baltimore. After that, I earned a
master’s in Human Resource Development from Bowie State
University.
For the past two years, I’ve been the director of
Career Counseling and Student Employment at CCBC Catonsville.
Before that, I was an academic advisor for five years.
What is your role at CCBC? I
work directly with students, trying to connect them and their
majors with careers.
I also teach a student development class to
African-American male students. We look at specific issues
relating to them and create an environment where they feel
comfortable talking.
I enjoy what I do; I don’t look at this as work.
The payoff is going to graduation and seeing those students who
have made it to the finish line. That does it for me.
