CCBC gala raises more than $200,000 to support students and programs in music, dance and theatre

Nearly 700 guests enjoyed dinner, music, dancing and a silent auction at CCBC’s Fifth Annual Gala, Bravo! Curtain Call for Scholarships and the Performing Arts.

The event, in celebration of CCBC’s Year of the Performing Arts, raised nearly $233,000 to support students and programs in music, dance and theatre.

Although the magnitude of the event can’t be captured in a mere 60 seconds, check out the CCBC Gala video for a glimpse of the night's festivities.

Guests danced to the sounds of CCBC’s Big Band Jazz Ensemble “Powerhouse,” and actors portraying Hairspray’s Tracy and Edna Turnblad from CCBC’s Cockpit in Court Theatre were out on the dance floor showing everyone how to do the “Madison.”

Guests also enjoyed small, intimate musical performances from both CCBC students and alumni in the Cabaret Room.

It was great food and great fun, all to benefit students! And in the words of CCBC President Kurtinitis, “People come ... they have a great time. It’s a great party!”
