“Dundalk Idol” Competition Moves Into Preliminary Rounds – May 6 and May 20
Tickets for the “Hollywood Red Carpet” Final Round must be purchased by 8 p.m. Saturday, May 20

Baltimore County, Md. – Thirty contestants* have moved to the preliminary rounds of the “Dundalk Idol 2006” competition to be held Saturday, May 6. Fifteen contestants will then be chosen to compete in Preliminary Round 2 on Saturday, May 20. Both preliminary rounds will be held between 7 – 10 p.m. at Donna’s Tavern & Restaurant at 6607 Pine Avenue in Dundalk. “Dundalk Idol 2006” is brought to the community by Project Millennium, Inc. (PMI), a grass-roots organization dedicated to “Positive Programs for Today’s Youth” and “Projects Dedicated to Showcasing Historic Dundalk.”

Tickets for the “Hollywood Red Carpet” Final Round on June 3 from 8 -11 p.m. cost $20 each and must be purchased prior to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 20 before the finalists are announced. No tickets will be sold on the evening of the “Hollywood Red Carpet” Final Round. Don’t miss your chance to help select the next “Dundalk Idol,” purchase your tickets today either at Donna’s Tavern and Restaurant or send your check – payable to Project Millennium, Inc. – and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: PMI, 832 S. 50th Street, Baltimore, 21222. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this event!

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) joins this PMI initiative as the title sponsor. CCBC will award the final winner with the prestigious “Idol” Trophy as well as a choice of either voice or music lessons. Other CCBC give-a-ways are: an IPod (door prize), CCBC hats for contestants and “Dundalk Idol” memorabilia for all ticket holders. Donna’s Tavern and Restaurant, the host and a sponsor, will award a $500 cash Grand Prize as well as an appearance for the winner in the Dundalk 4th of July Parade. Other prizes include: a recording session for one song demo from Invisible Sound Studios and a Shure SM58 Microphone courtesy of Dundalk Music Center. All contestants will receive “Dundalk Idol” T-shirts from Thunder Creek Apparel and medals from Donna’s Tavern & Restaurant. The first and second runners-up will win karaoke machines from Karaoke.com .
