This learning community will enable students to develop their reading and writing skills together in preparation for college course work. Note: There is a co-requisite of SDEV 101 for all students needing RDNG 052 that is NOT automatically met by this learning community.

LDB: Reading the American Dream: Equality and Justice for All
ARSC 121 (25673) and Reading 052 (20164)

This learning community pairs RDNG 052 (College Reading) with ARSC 121 (American pluralism: The search for justice. Students will work to improve their reading skills as they consider issues of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and social class in relation to full access to power and social justice and the quest for the American Dream.

LDC: Studying the Write WayEnglish 101 (25782) and Intro to Psychology 101 (25314)

This learning community allows you to fulfill two general education requirements - one in English, the other in the Social Sciences. Psychology 101 explores memory and learning styles for the purpose of creating a written "study plan for academic success" while English 101 develops the skills integral to creating, revising, and presenting this plan as a member of the academic community.

This learning community will improve two important skills by taking ESOL 052 and Speech 101, and at the same time satisfy a general education requirement. This learning community also allows you to improve your reading skills and to gain transfer credits in Speech 101.
