Health Care Insurance
In the United States, health care is not socialized. It is offered by private institutions and individuals, and it is very expensive. Individuals in the U.S. purchase health insurance to protect themselves from the high cost of a serious injury or illness. While you attend CCBC, you are required to have health insurance that will protect you.
You have two options to consider when purchasing health insurance:
-
Purchase accident and illness insurance from HTH Worldwide, a company that works with CCBC. The cost is approximately $1,100.00 per calendar year. For more information about HTH Worldwide, visit hthstudents.com.
-
Provide proof that you have health insurance coverage while in the U.S. Many students have coverage from their parents or choose to purchase insurance on their own. If you purchase your own insurance, you must provide documentation (in English) at the start of every semester that includes dates and types of coverage. (Health insurance is not the same as automobile insurance.)
