CCBC offers a wide range of educational options that have different outcomes for students. Two basic ways to look at our courses are as credit courses and continuing education courses:
Credit: These are courses that you take to earn college credit toward a degree or certificate. If you complete the course with a sufficient grade, then you are awarded a certain amount of credits on your official college transcript. Get enough of these in a particular sequence, and you can earn an Associate degree or a credit certificate. College credits can also be transferred to other institutions to count toward a Bachelor’s degree.
Continuing education: CCBC offers an enormous selection of classes that do not award college credit, but offer valuable learning opportunities for personal enrichment and career advancement. Sometimes referred to as non-credit courses, these might be a one-day painting class or a nine-month intensive IT certification course or anything in between.
