Spring Semester 2012 Service Projects

A Day On, Not a Day Off! MLK Jr. Holiday, Jan. 16th: 7-9 a.m. serving breakfast at My Sister’s Place or 12:30-5:00 p.m. on campus in the Catonsville Barn creating sack lunches for a local shelter, Guatemalan worry dolls, letters for deployed soldiers, and cards for terminally ill children. Register at any Student Life Office.

Serve a hot meal to folks in need of one.
Our Daily Bread: Saturday, March 3rd from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Space is limited!
Our Daily Bread is an organization in Baltimore City that serves more than a quarter of a million hot meals annually! Be a part of filling someone’s heart and their stomach. Contact the Student Life office for more information or to sign up. Transportation not provided.

Habitat for Humanity: Saturday, April 21st from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Help to make home ownership a reality for a family in Baltimore! No construction skills or prior experience required. All you need is the willingness to work and to get a little messy! We will provide transportation and lunch. A $10 refundable deposit is required for all Student Life trips. Register in the Student Life office no later than Monday, April 16th. Human Trafficking Awareness Week Activities:
April 24th: 7-9 p.m., Q Theater, Labor Trafficking Symposium

April 26th: 12:30-3:00 p.m., Q Theater, Sex Trafficking Symposium, Film, Resource Fair

Garden for Change! Garden Harvest Farm, Saturday May 5th from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch and transportation provided. Garden Harvest Farm’s mission is to alleviate hunger and improve nutrition of economically disadvantaged citizens worldwide. 100% of the produce is donated to local shelters and the poor, none is sold. A $10 refundable deposit is required for all Student Life trips. Register in the Student Life office no later than Thursday, May 3rd. Questions, email Michelle Butler.
