Complete GED Reading/Writing/Mathematics
Develop/review five subject areas of the 2002 General Education Development (GED) test. Information provided on a wide variety of post-secondary/training opportunities. Maryland GED-i (Online)
Maryland GED-i is a free, teacher-supported online learning environment for GED test preparation offered by the State of Maryland to Maryland residents. Must be a Maryland resident, at least 16 years old, officially out of school and able to demonstrate minimum 9th grade skills by pre-testing in math and reading for eligibility. To obtain additional information and/or to apply, visit www.mdged-i.org. Click "Getting Started" at bottom of home page to complete the application. Select the Community College of Baltimore County as your testing center.

The GED Official Practice Test (OPT)
Learn the format of the actual GED test by taking the Official Practice Test (OPT). The OPT is offered one Saturday of each month at CCBC Catonsville and CCBC Essex and takes 6 hours to complete. Students will be advised of their scores and their options. For information on testing dates and/or to register for the OPT, please call 443-840-3493 or 443-840-3428.

National External High School Diploma Program (EDP)
A Maryland State approved method to earn a high school diploma. To qualify, you must be age 18 or older and have learned life skills at home, work and the community.
Because this program was designed especially for adults, it is:

  • Self-Paced
  • Confidential
  • Conducted weekly through one-on-one appointments with trained assessors
  • A combination of take home assignments with written and oral assessments at center locations.
  • Locations: CCBC Catonsville and CCBC Essex

Grammar Refresher Online
Learn to produce clean, grammatically correct documents or speeches. Use definitions, examples and many reinforcing exercises, to cover the basics of English grammar.
