Appreciating and Collecting Contemporary Art
Explore the regional contemporary art scene and develop a better understanding of the dynamics of producing, showing and collecting artwork. Baltimore is home to a diverse community of artists and galleries and through classroom and off-campus visits, you will experience the people who create, present and collect art. You must provide your own transportation to off-campus locations that may include galleries, studios and alternative art facilities.

Collaborative Creative Play
Engage in play with your young child using objects that roll, stack, bend, expand and shrink-discovering each other's skills to imagine and create. We will use The Imagination Playground, 105-large block set, and some accessories (e.g., fabric, hoops & sand) to stimulate creative thinking, active movement and build structures. This play session is devoted to collaborative play between parent or guardian and child. Get ready to design, construct and display your innovation. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

The Beatles changed popular music in ways few other popular music artists did. Their continuing influence is heard and seen in music and in the media. Surrealism and Cinema: 1920's to Present
Learn about the history of Surrealism and its influence on filmmaking in Europe and Hollywood from the 1920s to the present day. We will read a collection of Surrealist texts that have influenced the movement in the early part of the 20th century and analyze various Surrealist film clips, including works by Luis Bunuel, Man Ray, Jan Svankmajer, Maya Deren, and David Lynch.
