Rag Rug Weaving
Explore the traditional techniques of rug weaving by using found materials such as bed sheets, old t-shirts or other repurposed materials. Transform them into a colorful floor rug. Introduction to Felting
Learn the basics of wet felting. Transforming colorful wool fibers into felt is a wonderfully engaging and sensory rich process using warm, soapy water and gentle rubbing of your hands. By course end you will have completed several small, introductory projects and will understand the basic concepts to begin felting on your own. A materials cost of $40 due at first class. Introduction to Needle Felting
Experience this dry felting technique that “fuses” wool fibers to a base layer of wool or wool felt using needles designed initially for use in industrial felt production. Learn the rudiments of two-dimensional needle felting to create a sampler and a wall hanging with wool yarn and roving (un-spun wool). Materials cost up to $30 due first class.

Learn personal fitting techniques with the use of a commercial pattern and properly sew a custom pair of pants. Purchase a 9" all-purpose zipper and enough fabric to make a basic jacket to match that will be constructed in Advanced Sewing 2. Bring a portable sewing machine in good working order. Advanced Sewing Part Two
Learn how to sew set-in sleeves, buttonholes, collars, piping and other fine touches for a perfect fit. Become familiar with more advanced hand sewing, seam finishing and ironing techniques. Topics include creating tailored pieces, sewing set in sleeves, creating piping and hand sewing a finished hem. In order to successfully complete this tailored jacket, some stitching will have to be done between classes. Prerequisite: Advanced Sewing Part One.
