CCBC CATONSVILLE HONORS SOPHOMORES
CCBC Catonsville’s Women’s Soccer honored its two sophomores, defender Laura Ewell and striker Shelby Polk, who played their final home game on Saturday, October 13, 2012. We wish both student athletes the best in their future endeavors.
Catonsville lost its final home game of 2012 to Burlington by a 7-0 count.
CCBC Catonsville thanks the coaches, student athletes, staff, family and friends for their support during the 2012 season.
WOMEN’S SOCCER LOSES TO ANNE ARUNDEL
CCBC Catonsville’s Women’s Soccer lost to Anne Arundel 6-0 on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
Catonsville trailed only 1-0 close through nearly 27 minutes of action until Anne Arundel scored three goals in less than 10 minutes late in the half for a 4-0 halftime advantage.
Meghenn Jackson scored a hat trick for Anne Arundel with three first half goals. Brittany Leabhart added a goal and an assist.
Catonsville will close out the 2012 season with sophomore day on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 12 Noon versus Burlington.
CCBC CATONSVILLE LOSES TO UNDEFEATED CAPE FEAR
CCBC Catonsville's women's soccer team lost 11-0 to undefeated Cape Fear on Saturday, September 29, 2012.Cape Fear was led by Jodi Barber with three goals. Haley Laurie contributed four assists. CCBC Catonsville returns to their home field on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 5 p.m. versus Anne Arundel in an MD JUCO matchup.
CCBC CATONSVILLE LOSES TO HOWARD; FIELD REDEDICATED
The CCBC Lady Cardinals soccer team lost to Howard 5-0 on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in MD JUCO play.
Catonsville battled Howard to a 0-0 tie in the first half. Howard scored three goals in less than 8 minutes to break the scoreless tie in the second half. Kennefa Mullings scored first in the 15th minute and Meghan Grimes then scored twice in less than five minutes to give Howard a 3-0 advantage. Nicole Dest-Forrester and Loveline Kenfack scored late goals for Howard to close out the scoring.
At halftime, CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis emceed a ceremony re-naming the field as Joseph and Mildred Murray Stadium Field after long time supporters of Catonsville athletics.
The Lady Cardinals will return to their home field on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 12 noon versus Cape Fear.
CCBC CATONSVILLE WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYS CECIL TO A 2-2 TIE
The CCBC Catonsville women’s soccer team played MD JUCO opponent Cecil to a 2-2 tie on Friday, September 21, 2012.Cecil’s Maria Niño scored two first half goals to give Cecil a 2-0 lead at intermission. She got behind the defense for a goal in the 20th minute assisted by Kara Barshinger and scored unassisted in the 42nd minute on an outstanding individual effort.Catonsville mounted a late comeback with goals by Nicolina Felts (off a throw in) and Shelby Polk, who knocked in a loose ball to tie the game with 8:40 remaining.Neither team was able to break the tie at the end of regulation or in two 10 minute overtimes.
The Lady Cardinals return to their home field on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. versus Howard Community College.
WOMEN’S SOCCER EARNS FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON
CCBC Catonsville’s women’s soccer team defeated Salem Community College (VA) 2-1 on Monday September 17, 2012 at Catonsville to earn their first win of the season. The Lady Cardinals are now 1-2 on the season.
Danielle Southwell scored the only goal of the game. The Catonsville defender scored unassisted after a long run down the field. Despite dominating play during most of the game, Catonsville was unable to score any additional goals.
CCBC Catonsville returns to the field on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 5 p.m. versus Cecil College. Catonsville also plays Howard Community College at home at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012.
