Online Admissions Process For Massage Therapy

MASSAGE THERAPY PRE-APPLICATION CHECKLIST

We appreciate your interest in the Massage Therapy program at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Essex Campus and want to make certain that you are successful.

The Massage Therapy program is a selective admissions program. Although the Community College of Baltimore County has an open door policy for general admission, enrollment in the School of Health Professions programs is competitive.

STEP 1 - Review the Pre-Application Checklist

To make certain that your application can be FULLY considered for the program, please review the following Pre-Application Checklist BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION to the Massage Therapy program at CCBC.

Have you reviewed the admissions criteria for the Massage Therapy program? Prerequisite information can be found within the admission packet. Note you must submit three recommendation forms and an autobiographical sketch to be considered for admission.

If you have completed coursework at CCBC, is your CCBC GPA at least a 2.00?*

Have you completed coursework at another college? If so, do we have copies of your transcripts?

Have you completed the prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better, or are you currently enrolled?

Both MASS 101 and BIOL 109 must be completed prior to program start.

If you answered YES to to these 4 questions then CONGRATULATIONS!
You are eligible to apply to the Massage Therapy program.

If you answered NO or NOT CERTAIN to any of the the Pre-Applicaiton Checklist questions then, you are not eligible to apply at this time. You may contact the Massage Therapy Academic Advisor: Ms. Luba Lebed at 443-840-1593 to schedule an appointment or LLebed@ccbcmd.edu.

STEP 2 - Apply to the School of Health Professions

Are you a current or former CCBC student? – Go directly to SIMON and apply under the Student Services Tab.
NOTE: There is a $50 application fee to apply to the School of Health Professions. Applying online requires paying the application fee before the application can be submitted. CCBC accepts VISA and MASTERCARD for the payment.

New to CCBC? You need to apply to CCBC first – Click here to start your application to CCBC
Once admitted to the College, you will be able to log in to SIMON to complete the School of Health Professions Admissions process.

STEP 3 - Submit official transcripts and supplemental documents

Official transcripts from all previous colleges attended, including CLEP scores, AP scores and international evaluations need to be submitted to CCBC. You do not need to submit a CCBC transcript. All documentation should be submitted to the School of Health Professions Admissions Office, ADMN101 on the Essex Campus. You may need to submit an official copy of your transcripts to the Records and Registration office as well.

Submit the following documents to the School of Health Professions Admissions Office prior to the admission deadline of July 1st for fall or November 15th for spring:

- A one-page, typed autobiographical sketch including reasons for wanting to take the Massage Therapy program

- Three completed recommendation forms

STEP 4 - Check the status of your application

You can check the status of your application online by logging into SIMON.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA AND PREREQUISITES:

The Massage Therapy program admits a limited number of students each year. The academic credentials of the most competitve candidates include completion of MASS 101 and BIOL 109 (or BOTH BIOL 220 & 221) with a grade of "C" or better, submission of three (3) reference letters, the student questionaire and the autobiographical sketch. Students should complete these courses and turn in all required forms by the July 1st deadline for fall admission or the November 15th deadline for spring admission. The competitiveness of admissions depends on the pool of applicants.
