Johnson joins CCBC Foundation
Baltimore County, Md. – Janet Thomas Johnson, executive
officer of the Baltimore County Fire Department, has been named to the
board of directors of The Community College of Baltimore County
Foundation. The CCBC Foundation was formed in June 2005 to coordinate
college-wide fundraising initiatives within the private sector.
In her role with the Baltimore County Fire Department, Johnson is
responsible for non-operational managerial and administrative functions,
including all fiscal operations and personnel management. A graduate of
the University of North Carolina, Johnson earned her Juris Doctor degree
from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Johnson is a member of the Monumental Bar Association, the Maryland Bar
Association, and the Committee on Judicial Appointments (Maryland Bar).
She is a court certified mediator and also serves as an arbitrator for
the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and the National Association
of Securities Dealers. Johnson is also a nationally certified
firefighter and a state certified emergency medical technician.
In addition to her work with the CCBC Foundation, Johnson is also an
active member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Leadership Baltimore
County, the Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival Board of
Directors and Friendship Baptist Church.
Johnson resides in the Cockeysville, Md. area, with her spouse, Harry,
daughter, Amanda, and son, Warren.
