CCBC’S AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM WINS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Maryland State Department of Education bestows honor at April 25 reception
Baltimore County, Md.- The highly acclaimed Automotive Technology
program at The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) has once
again received an award of excellence, this time from the Maryland State
Department of Education (MSDE). In a recent announcement, MSDE declared
CCBC’s Automotive Technology program as the winner of the
2006 Career and Technology Education Program Award of Excellence
. Award presentations are scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 at a 5 p.m.
reception at the Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel.
Earlier in the year, the Automotive Technology program received a
national award from Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. This is the second
time that the program has been honored with a national award from Toyota.
The mission of the Automotive Technology program at CCBC is to prepare
students for successful employment or advancement as automotive
technicians by providing technical training in the classroom and in the
lab on CCBC vehicles. This two-year program alternates college
instruction with on-the-job training and leads to an associate’s degree.
The CCBC program meets the standards of the National Automotive
Technician Education Foundation’s (NATEF) certified program and the
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
